The Bal du moulin de la Galette was one of the works by Renoir that I was so excited to stand in front of. It is certainly what I think of when I think of him but more than that was that I felt a sense of connection to the painting because we got to stand in the spot that inspired him to paint this scene while in Montmartre, Paris.

We saw the painting while visiting the Musee d’Orsay. I have to say it was even more impressive to me than the Louvre. The Louvre is so huge ! I think I was somewhat lost and confused for some of the time I was inside. But the ‘Orsay seemed far easier to navigate and there were more things that I could stand in front of without fighting the crowds that were at some of the paintings at the Louvre Museum.

Mona is a rock star !!!
